You might recall that prior to us buying a house, there was almost zero home content on this site. It wasn’t that I wasn’t interested, but renovations aren’t cheap and neither is (most) furniture, so as long as we were living like nomads hopping from one apartment to the next, I didn’t see a reason to really commit and invest. That all changed when we bought our first place, though. We did small updates like the kitchen and big renovations like our bathroom and some rooms that just needed new furniture… like a crib! We closed on our house here in LA a couple of weeks ago, though, and are in limbo on our place in Austin, so I’m plotting projects I can do when we get there that are easy, inexpensive, and could even be done in an apartment. Here are 10 home improvements you can make with just a can of paint!
1. Kitchen cabinets are super pricey to replace– try a fresh coat of paint instead! (via Decor Pad)
2. Painting our front door was when of the best and most inexpensive things we have ever done! (via Pompeli)
3. The stars on these walls are actually decals, but how easy would it be to stencil this same design? (via
4. Love the color they chose for this fireplace mantel! (via House and Garden) 5. Talk about making a statement! You could also opt for something more neutral, an ombre color change, or even a moroccan stencil design… the options are endless! (via
6. This pop of color in the doorway is super interesting! (via Dwell) 7. Painted wood floors! (via Elle Decor) 8. A can of paint and cool brass hardware make this nondescript dresser a total head-turner! (via
9. These black and white striped painted ceilings are such a cool statement in this toddler room. I also think it would be cool to do a room in pale pastel walls with a slightly deeper shade on the ceiling. (via
10. I love when all white spaces are broken up by one dramatic statement wall. (via My Domaine) Original article and pictures take theeffortlesschic.com site
