PRETTY IN A PINK COAT

This season I have been seeing some beautiful soft pink shades in fashions stores. I especially like a powder pink colored coat, like the ones here. Combined with blue jeans or black pants, a pink coat makes a stylish outfit.

This beautiful loft in London is set in an old art deco building which has been renovated. The apartment has a modern look but also has features that are characteristic of the art deco era. Striking are the large windows, making this open planned apartment flood with light. The decor is a mix of art deco antiques, vintage finds and some industrial elements. The result is an unique and eclectic home, which by the way can be rented as a photo shoot location (through the location scout site Airspace Locations).

Last week I was in Eindhoven covering the Dutch Design Week with a group of 15 bloggers (#BlogTeamDDW). The blogging community has changed since the early years (I started blogging in 2006!) and to be honest I have had some moments doubting if I should continue with this blog. But I came back from Eindhoven fueled and inspired. I had missed this feeling and I loved being part of a group again. So thank you Holly (Decor8) for organising this great trip!

One of the highlights was a dinner organised by Dutch Company NLXL. For the introduction of their new wallpaper collection “Timber Strips” by Piet Hein Eek they did something special. Design legend Paola Navone came over from Milan to cook a dinner for a small group of friends and members of the press, which included our team of 15 bloggers! It was such a lovely evening with great food (Paola Navone made a delicious Risotto alla Milanese for us) and wonderful company (which included Rosanna Orlandi, Piet Hein Eek and XLNL founders Rick & Esther).

Timber Strips Wallpaper is a another collaboration with Piet Hein Eek. With this collection NLXL is going back to its roots: an esthetically strong collection of faux wood wallpapers.
