Cozy Cottage Kitchens That Surround You Like a Warm Blanket

Cozy Cottage Kitchens That Surround You Like a Warm Blanket

This time of year has me thinking about holing up indoors, and baking, and mulled wine... and there's no place I'd rather do that baking than in one of these eleven beautiful country kitchens, where classic designs and well-worn textures come together to create a cozy, timeless look.

This kitchen from Skona Hem has a view of lush summer greenery, but in the winter I'd pull the shades, put on some tea, and be perfectly happy puttering about.

This kitchen from Skona Hem has a beautiful, classic style, while the patterned geometric floor makes it anything but boring.

Can't you just see yourself lingering at this kitchen table for a long conversation? A mix of textures, a combination of skirted and traditional cabinets, and some sweet accessories make this kitchen from Marie Claire Maison a particularly inviting place.

Wood cabinets have gotten a bit of a bad rap lately, but I absolutely love them (paired beautifully with marble countertops) in this kitchen from This Old House.

The antique worktable—turned-island lends a rustic charm to this spacious kitchen from My Scandinavian Home. (The wall paneling is a nice touch, too.)

In this kitchen by Meghan Pflug for One Kings Lane, an antique terracotta sink provides a beautiful contrast with a modern stainless dishwasher.

The wood floor and Shaker-style cabinets (with painted panels in a contrasting blue) give this kitchen from MyDomaine a sweet, traditional feel.

Soapstone (as seen in this kitchen from Woon Stijl) is one of my favorite materials for countertops. It has a storied, old-world feel but also lends a certain warmth — perfect for long winter days.

This kitchen from Inside Out benefits from both beautiful fixtures and beautiful lighting. The painted wood floor keeps the space bright, while still adding lovely texture. (Also lead image above.)

This is the kitchen of stylist and photographer Beth Kirby, spotted on Bon Appetit. With a mix of marble countertops and wood shelving, and a selection of carefully curated accessories, it's certainly picture-perfect.

We end with this kitchen from HomeLife, which has even more beautiful textures than any other. The wood countertops, beamed ceiling, and terra cotta tile floor all contribute to a warm, homey vibe, making this the perfect kitchen to bake up a storm — or just sip a cup of coffee and enjoy being at home.
