A dark 1940s bungalow in the state of New York was transformed into into a modern and bright, 2,100-square-foot house with generous windows. But a very modern looking house can feel cold so owner Sloane Klevin asked British interior designer to “make it warm’. Selina softened the monotone color palette of white, black and brown with colorful Turkish kilim rugs, which add character and warmth to the various spaces. Also some ‘country-industrial’ elements such as sliding barn doors, hand-forged iron hardware and barn lights were incorporated into the interior. Similar vintage kilim rugs can be found here.
